Pup's Pub & Kitchen
If you love dogs, then you'll enjoy Pup's Pub & Kitchen. This dog park and bar is set to open in Orlando in July 2020. Aside from a play area for dogs, the establishment features a full liquor indoor-outdoor dog bar, as well as a wall-mounted TV screen.
The concept was born from the desire to create a place that would allow owners and their pups to socialize. Owner Alex Wright and his wife, Sheila Suhar, realized that there wasn't many places for dog owners in Orlando to go when they were looking for a spot for their pet.
Alex and Sheila have been able to secure a $215,000 loan through Pilot Bank, which is backed by the Small Business Administration. They have signed a lease for the former Bungalow space and hope to open in the near future.
The Dog Bar offers an arcade game, a wooden pirate ship with a slide, and benches for people to take photos of their pets. Pets can also get a $1 discount on all drinks.
Copper Dog Pub & Kitchen
Copper Dog is a Scottish highlands pub and restaurant that serves food and drinks. It's a local favourite. You can also enjoy live music at Copper Dog.
The name Copper Dog is based on a traditional way of smuggling whisky. In the past, distillery workers hid a copper dog in their belts and would use it to fetch drams when no one was around.
Piers Adam envisioned a pub that celebrated local Speyside fare. He bought the Craigellachie Hotel in October 2013. With a vision to create a community pub, he named the bar Copper Dog.
As the hospitality entrepreneur began to transform the hotel into a re-creation of the original Copper Dog, he was joined by former National Bartender of the Year Calum Lawrie. Known for his passion for craft beverages, lawrie was charged with creating Copper Dog cocktails.
Located in the basement level of the hotel, the bar is stocked with local craft beers and ales. Locals and travellers alike continue to frequent the bar for their favorite drams.
